Galveston Beach Exploration

We returned to Galveston for more Birthday celebrations and rented the same house as always on the Seawall (known as our beach house) with our family.  The house has a big kitchen to ask for treats, and a front porch to watch everyone walking, running, or biking by.  The steps down to the beach is right across the street with many friendly dogs to play with and waves to jump.

Our family left that evening to explore the bar scene on Post Office, O'Malley's Stage Door Pub for a drink or two and come back.  Well we had to wait many an hour for their return.  Apparently they went on a pub crawl with out me, the pub crawl canine expert.  They learned the importance of wearing underwear as a patron of another bar did not and showed her plumbers crack to the world as she sat at the bar.

Enjoyed live music at the Old Quarter Acoustic Cafe (where Townes Van Zandt played) and the Whiskey Blues Bar. The matriarch only drank one drink, but someone from the Whiskey Blues Bar kept buying her more drinks which she would take a thank-you sip and pass it to our papa.  She told the bartender that she could not drink, but the bartender said that her unsolicited benefactor had paid and left.  Hate for a drink (of Makers and sprite)  go to waste.  'Oh, Don't Ask Why!'  The other bartender returned saying that there was still another drink for her.  'Oh, Don't Ask Why!'  Another Makers and sprite, sipped and on to Papa.  Papa drank too much, and did not remember much from that evening.

They finally returned after driving around the Island and watching the waves hit the Seawall.

The next day we had a snack and headed to the beach to play and explore the Galveston beaches.
